Long-Term RV Parks in California: A Checklist for Traveling Workers

What to look for when your RV is home for a job that runs weeks or months.

July 15, 2026 · Long-Term Stays

When you travel for work, your RV is more than a camper. It is your home, your office, and your place to rest after a long shift. That is why picking from long-term RV parks in California takes more thought than booking a weekend site.

This checklist covers what traveling workers should look for, and how The Californian RV Resort in Acton lines up.

1. Location near your job site

Your commute matters every single day. Look at how far the park is from your work, and what the traffic looks like at the times you will drive.

The Californian sits on CA-14 in Acton, between Santa Clarita and Palmdale. That makes it a practical base for work across northern Los Angeles County and the Antelope Valley. Universal Studios Hollywood, as a reference point, is about 35 minutes away without heavy traffic.

2. Clear monthly pricing

Ask for the full monthly price and what it includes. At The Californian, monthly stays start at $1,300 per month. Weekly stays start at $475 if your assignment is shorter. There are no refunds and no pro-rating of fees, so plan your dates with that in mind.

3. Reliable power and hookups

You need power you can count on. Every site here has full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, so you can run air conditioning, a fridge, and work gear without worry.

4. Internet

Many workers handle paperwork, video calls, or family check-ins at night. Complimentary Wi-Fi runs throughout the resort.

5. Mail and packages

Long jobs mean you will need to receive mail. At The Californian, mail and packages are held at the office by name. No need to rent a mailbox in town.

6. Laundry

Work clothes pile up fast. An on-site laundry room saves you a trip to a laundromat every week.

7. Quiet nights

Early shifts need real sleep. Quiet hours here run from 10 PM to 7 AM and are strictly enforced. The resort is in a rural setting with a 5 mph speed limit inside the gate.

8. Security

You may leave your RV during long shifts. A gated park helps. Every guest here gets a gate card with a $50 refundable deposit, only one vehicle may pass the gate at a time, and visitors must register at the office.

9. Vehicle and RV rules

Check the limits before you book. Monthly guests at The Californian are limited to one RV and two vehicles total per site. RVs older than 10 years may be subject to approval for monthly stays. Auto repair and RV washing are not allowed on site. Read the full list on our resort rules and regulations page.

10. A way to unwind

After a long week, it helps to have more than a parking pad. Guests here have an exercise room and a seasonal pool and hot tub.
