RV Parks Near Universal Studios Hollywood: Stay 35 Minutes Away
Skip the city RV lots. Stay in the hills and drive in for the day.
RV parks near Universal Studios Hollywood are few, and the ones close to the park are often tight, noisy, and expensive. If you want a full hookup site, a quiet night, and an easy morning drive, look a little north.
The Californian RV Resort in Acton is about 35 minutes from Universal Studios Hollywood without heavy traffic. Here is how to plan your visit from our resort.
Why stay outside the city
Universal City sits in a crowded part of Los Angeles. Big rigs and city streets are not a great mix, and overnight RV parking near the park is very limited.
Acton gives you room. The resort is at about 3,000 feet in the foothills, with mountain views and quiet hours from 10 PM to 7 AM. After a full day of rides and shows, you come back to calm.
How to get there
From Acton, take CA-14 south to I-5, then head toward the 170 or 101 into Universal City. The route is simple. Traffic is the variable.
- Leave early on weekdays to beat rush hour.
- Weekends are often lighter in the morning.
- Plan your drive home around evening traffic.
Always leave your RV at your site and take your tow car or second vehicle. Parking a car at Universal is far easier than parking an RV.

Plan the Upper and Lower Lots
The park is split into an Upper Lot and a Lower Lot connected by long escalators. Plan your day so you do not go up and down more than you need to.
